Happy Mother's Day!

This year I celebrated my first Mother's Day! It is strange to now be a part of the millions of women who are mothers, it is like I am in "The club" or something. It was a special no-frills day. I was awoken at 6:00 am as usual by my beautiful, rise-with-the-sun daughter. We headed to church where our pastor shared a message titled "What It Takes to be a Mother" and the children gave a pink roses to their mothers. Riley must of been really tired because after church as I was talking to some people, she feel asleep in my arms! She has never done that before!
It was a sweet moment.

After church I got to take a nap (my favorite!) and then skype with both of our families. It nice
to be able to "see" our mom's on their special day even though we are 800 miles away.
My poor husband has our anniversary and mother's day in the same weekend so he has to make it extra special. Or maybe her gets off easy because we can do one thing and say its for both. Hmmm. We went out to dinner Friday night for our anniversary and Mother's Day so Thomas made dinner for me tonight. We had frosted flakes coated chicken, homemade mashed potatoes, and green beans. It was yummy!
It was a great day and I got the one gift I wanted, a hug and a kiss from Riley!
